Social networking has been around for about 10 years now. In the last five years however, we have seen a booming growth with the addition of sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Myspace.
We now know that social networking is the way of the future. We can now network and grow our "known contacts" with people from around the globe without ever meeting them.
Blogging has also seen a huge increase in popularity over the last few years. A main topic for discussion among HR people is whether or not people should blog. A blog will show everyone on the web who you are and what your thoughts are.
As you can see, I choose to blog. I think keeping up with technology, creating your personal brand, and expanding your network as much as you can will help a person both personally as well as professionally.
